Water at the Heart of the Economy - The Recession and Beyond
9 July 2009, News release from Aqua Enviro Technology Transfer
European Water & Wastewater Management Conference
(ThinkTank, Birmingham, 22-23/09/09)
The water industry is at the heart of a country's economy and it undertakes a dual role, not only of providing the clean water that is essential for health, well being, industrial development and agriculture, but also in collecting and treating the used water to ensure its discharge has no adverse environmental impact. Undertaking this requires a large energy input with consequent CO2 emissions.
The European Water & Wastewater Management Conference is an annual event that explores the practical advances that have been made in managing water and debates future needs based around impending government legislation. It covers industry best practice and innovation across the whole water cycle and provides a stimulating environment to discuss future challenges.
Keynote conference speaker Clive Deadman, Business Change Director from United Utilities comments "Climate change and the challenges of efficiently maintaining and operating our increasingly complex treatment and network systems means we need better visibility and control of asset risk, carbon accounting and operational costs. I look forward to finding out how innovation can help us do so."
The conference will take place on 22nd - 23rd September 2009 at the ThinkTank, Birmingham, UK.
