Harrow's sweeper order sparks good idea

Johnston's manufacturing plant at Sittingbourne in Kent has recently delivered the last of six CN200 compacts to Fraikin Ltd, for use by Harrow Council.

The distinctive purple machines have been supplied to very high spec, including supawash, air conditioning, rear view camera, and even a map reading light, among many options.

The sweepers also include a brand new option designed by Johnston's engineering team especially for Harrow, the Anti-Siphon Filter. The filter system has been developed to deter fuel theft from the machines, and is made up of a special fuel tank and filter in the neck of the filler which prevents fuel being siphoned.

The new device is considered such a good idea that it will now be offered as an option on all new compact sweeper sales in 2009.
