ET2000 Cut the Costs of Talking Rubbish
17 December 2004, News release from ET2 Limited
Waste producers looking to increase efficiencies in waste handling and transport and reduce costs associated with waste disposal are turning to ET2000's proven revolutionTM waste densification technology.
The unique revolutionTM equipment achieves higher compaction ratios than conventional compactor equipment (typically compaction ratios of 15:1 on mixed general waste and up to 60:1 on certain streams of homogenous waste) with the additional advantages of destruction of material and dewatering of waste in a single operation within a single machine. Material is squeezed and twisted past a cutter plate before entering a unique compaction chamber that massively reduces the volume of waste.
Conventional ram compactors operate by forcing waste into and against the end of the bin, only beginning to compact the waste when the bin is about 80% full. This can result in material springing back to near normal volume once the compaction pressure is release. revolutionTM processing destroys the memory of the product completely breaking it down as the waste material is carried by the rotating screw mechanism to final destruction by the internal cutting plate.
Waste is discharged after processing in the form of a dense plug. This can be discharged into any type of bin or container and since the plug will not re-expand it can be extruded and sealed in polythene sausage wrap. ET2000's revolutionTM waste processing system can also be used for batch processing where segregated waste is to undergo further processing for recycling. The minimisation of waste means optimisation of bin or container payloads and a reduction in the number of lifts required which translates into cost savings on waste handling and a reduction in landfill charges.
Suitable for both dry and wet waste, revolutionTM waste processors have been proven in a range of applications including within food processing, beverage and soft drink, chemical and pharmaceutical, hotel, catering and dairy industries.
The dewatering function of the revolutionTM equipment allows wet waste to be minimised efficiently and enables liquid to be easily reclaimed for recycling or discharged to drain for disposal. Using revolution qualifies as a 'process' within the European Landfill Directive.
When utilised at the point of waste production the revolutionTM equipment destroys confidential or sensitive material rendering it unrecognisable. This means waste does not reappear on the black market but also avoids the additional costs to the producer of secure storage and deep burial. Producers of some of the world's best known high value brands use revolution in this way.
With a range of feed options for high volume waste reduction, ET2000's revolutionTM waste processors can be incorporated into a full or semi-automated waste handling system and waste disposal regime to offer customers maximum benefits. ET2000 offer a free waste audit and evaluation of their current waste handling regime to ensure the system meets all customer requirements and demonstrates financial savings in line with projections.
