Latham International Ltd Filter Press Technology is used in the Distillery Industry to provide a far dryer Filter Cake from the draft, which can be burnt to produce renewable energy.
The first Filter Press and Burner will be installed by this summer (2012) at a large Distillery in Scotland.
Advantages of using this Filtration Technology:
•Can filter hard-to-dewater sludges
•Limited moving parts on a Filter Press, so less maintenance required
•Very High Solid Capture and High solid content cake
•Dryer cake produced than a Belt Press, Centrifuge or any other Sludge Separation Equipment
•The mechanical device capable of producing a filter cake dry enough to burn or to landfill
