News Release: Discreet WPL Plant Replaces Septic Tanks At Sandringham

WPL’s 575pe HiPAF sewage treatment plant has been installed, by Alan Williams Drainage, at the Camping & Caravanning Club's Sandringham site, in East Anglia. The compact, odour-free plant, designed to produce a 10 mg/l ammonia standard, will treat all of the wastewater from the 275-pitch site. It replaces three septic tanks which previously discharged to soakaways in Royal Estate parkland.

Installed below ground, WPL’s HiPAF includes no moving parts, simplifying maintenance requirements; controls are housed in a small, acoustically insulated GRP kiosk adjacent to the unit. During operation, the system utilises Submerged Aerated Filter technology and effluent passes through a three-stage treatment process.

Bill Whalley, Consulting Engineer at South Wales-based Alan Williams Drainage commented, “The nature of the installation and its idyllic setting called for a plant that was discreet in design and in terms of odour. With below-ground installation and a 10 mg/l ammonia consent, WPL’s compact HiPAF HPR57.2TQ submerged aerated media treatment plant proved the ideal option.”
