Emerson Announces new Rosemount Analytical Water Quality System for Automated Distribution Monitoring, to Ensure Drinking Water Quality and Safety

The new Rosemount Analytical Water Quality System from Emerson Process Management is a flexible, easy to install packaged analyser that enables monitoring of water distribution systems, to ensure water safety and quality.
Unlike purely laboratory-orientated systems that require substantial amounts of integration by plant staff, the Emerson Water Quality System comes as a complete "plug and plumb" panel-mounted system designed to withstand the rigours of a real-world distribution environment. The Water Quality System enables plants to establish a baseline for critical measurements, and a customised package might include a choice of Rosemount Analytical sensors for turbidity, conductivity, pH, ORP, free chlorine, monochloramine, ammonia, dissolved oxygen, ozone, temperature and particle counting. When changes in these measurements are detected in the water distribution system, operators are alerted and can respond accordingly.

The Water Quality System is a complete package of equipment, on an easily mounted wall panel, that allows simple "plug and plumb" installation. The field-proven Emerson analytical instruments and sensors offered with this system include products that meet the perceived needs of an individual plant. This would normally involve the Rosemount Analytical Clarity II on-line turbidity measurement system, plus a selection from the Rosemount Analytical water analysis sensors such as the 399VP pH/ORP sensor, the 400VP conductivity sensor, 499ACL chlorine sensor and 499ADO dissolved oxygen sensor, linked to the dual or single channel transmitters supplied for these units. Transmitters are available for hazardous area use, for two wire or mains powered applications. The flexible system can also be enhanced with an on-line TOC analyser and auto sampler: normally the systems supplied require no reagents for most measurements, reducing the on site maintenance and attention needed, and reducing operational costs.
