RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) Shredding
18 August 2009, News release from Mach Tech Services Ltd
Award winning machinery, satisfied customers and an ever expanding customer base has ensured that Mach Tech Services Ltd has enjoyed its most productive year to date.
Ten of the Power Komet and ten of the Standard Komet secondary shredders for RDF / SRF production are now in operation in the UK and Eire, the territory served by Mach Tech Services on behalf of Lindner Recyclingtech GmbH of Spittal, Austria.
The Lindner machinery, which won the coveted First Place prize in the 'Most innovative technology for alternative fuel production' at the Global Fuels conference held in Toronto Canada, has a long and decorated history since the companies foundation in 1948. It's continued R&D within the Alternative Fuel Shredding sector has led to the multi-award winning Komet range of shredders, the high volume and low wear costs pre shredder ,the Jupiter and it's bespoke Heavy Fraction Separator.
David Ingham of Mach Tech Services Ltd said of the previous 12 months, "The volume of sales of both new and reconditioned machinery has allowed us to invest in the area of the company that we feel most passionate about. Both Joe Hoyle the Mach Tech MD and myself come from a Service and Maintenance background, so the service department has been the first to see an increase in its budget with extra engineers, new fully kitted vans and the best tools available.
After the sale of a machine, it's more often than not, that a customer's main dealings with our company will be through our service teams, a strategy that seems to be working, as we have just received our first repeat order from a major Dublin based waste management company currently operating a Power Komet 2800".
"Our colleagues in Austria have more experience within this particular type of shredding than any other manufacturer with installations at major cement works including Holcim, Heidleburg, Cemex and LaFarge amongst over a 100 other installations worldwide dedicated to the shredding of waste to produce RDF / SRF.
Because of this experience they have been able to advise and to their credit assist us with the stocking of the most commonly used wear parts for their machinery, a decision which sees approx £60,000 worth of wear parts available for immediate despatch at our premises and the formation of a dedicated department to oversee this part of our operation".
"Our installations at some of the UK'S most respected independent Waste Management companies such as Mid UK Recycling, Powerday PLC and Premier Waste PLC, have all been carried out within the schedules laid down by the customer's with the machinery passing throughput trials etc without a single problem".
Lindner Recyclingtech also have a full range of shredding equipment for almost any application and along with its subsidiary company Lindner ReDest Gmbh, have recently launched the Vega range of single shaft plastic shredding machinery. Mach Tech Services Ltd offers both New and Used industrial shredding equipment, and spares and services for most makes of industrial shredder.
Lindner Recyclingtech Gmbh and Mach Tech Services Ltd will this year present what they believe to be the largest shredder yet exhibited at the indoor area of the RWM Show. Following the showing of the Lindner Komet 1100 at the 2007 show and the Komet 1800 at the 2008 show (The Komet 1800 was actually sold at the show,) this year will see the exhibiting of the Lindner Power Komet 2800 the largest secondary shredder for alternative fuel, SRF / RDF production available from Lindner and winner of the 2008 Carinthian Technology Awards along with being part of the range that won the coveted first place award at the recent 'Global Fuels' conference and exhibition.
The Power Komet range of shredders were introduced by Lindner at the 2008 IFAT in Munich and since the inception have become one of the most sought after RDF / SRF production units in the UK and Eire with 10 operational plants in full production including Powerday PLC, Mid UK Recycling Ltd, Wastecycle Ltd and Nottinghamshire Recycling amongst others.
The continual research and development by the design team headed by Peter Schiffer at Lindner Recyclingtech has resulted in a high throughput, high availability, secondary shredder that whilst being based upon the original Komet design have been improved with improved service access to reduce routine maintenance downtime, Industrial PC operators panel, which when connected to the internet allows for diagnostic access to the electrical department at Lindner GmbH and the power saving countershaft drive.
The Power Komet 2800 which weighs in at 29 tonnes features the 'patented maintenance door/ foreign parts flap and the 'patent pending' hydraulically operated screen units and scrapers.
