Developments at Shredall: SDS new brand for Shredall archiving & storage; BS 8470 new standard helps buyers identify reputable confidential shredding companies; Paper & Other Recycling Shredall guarantee.
Shredall has launched SDS (Shredall Data Storage) to incorporate all the storage and archiving services currently run by Shredall (Data Shredding & Storage). The SDS records centre is a secure stand-alone building on the Shredall site with capacity for approximately 50,000 archive boxes. All records are barcoded and managed by state-of-the-art software. A full range of archiving services is available, including our newly-built magnetic media vault.
Shredall welcomes the new British Standard, BS 8470:2006 Secure Destruction of Confidential Material - Code of Practice. As a founder member of the BSIA's Information Destruction Section (IDS), Shredall has supported the introduction of an industry standard from the outset, especially as it outlines the key requirements of a professional information destruction company.
Shredall also welcomes Section 12 End Product Disposal which sets out specific requirements for recycling and consideration of environmental impacts. Buyers using the services of companies such as Shredall will be rest assured that such companies are also operating with an environmental conscience.
Shredall guarantees that all paper shredded either on- or off-site is baled and recycled into tissue-related products. Where possible, all other non-paper items are recycled.
Shredall is now working towards ISO 14001:2004 and a copy of the company's Environmental Policy Statement is available on request.
