Japanese Knotweed - Eradicating the Invader

Alien invader Japanese knotweed is spreading throughout the UK at an alarming rate. From prestigious sites like that of the London 2012 site to private back gardens, it is causing havoc to native habitats, damage to property/infrastructure and adding massively to site redevelopment costs. The severity of the problem has been recognised by HM Government, and was even mentioned in the Chancellor's 2007 Budget.
