New MRF ideal for Kent

Ideal Waste Paper's new material recycling facility in Swanley, Kent, is proving a great success.

The £14 million recycling facility was opened in March this year by the family-run business, which has relocated its operation from Bermondsey, London to the Teardrop Centre on the outskirts of Swanley. Sixty additional jobs have been created at the new facility, which was opened by Michael Fallon MP. Running in tandem with the new MRF is Ideal Waste paper's well established office and commercial waste paper recycling operation.

Having expanded and evolved from their traditional business as waste paper merchants and processors the new MRF sees Ideal Waste offering a high quality recycling service to local authorities and major waste producers across the South of England. The MRF, which has an annual material capacity of 100,000 tonnes is already processing material collected from a number of local authorities in Kent and, through their partnership with Cory Environmental, the City of London.

The MRF, supplied and built by OKLM, features a Mac 108 baling press, a Mac 111/1 baling press and a Macpresse hogger, supplied by R.C.P Macpress of Telford, Shropshire. R.C.P Macpresse often work closely with companies who specialise in designing and constructing MRF's., and Macpresse equipment has be specified in a number of MRF installations. The high specification of the baling presses and hogger allows the Ideal Waste Paper plant to operate 24 hours per day at full capacity.

Low running costs and high productivity were a key factor in the choice of Macpresse equipment as was its ability to work in harmony with equipment from other manufacturers. A combination of careful design and the best choice of equipment has resulted in a recycling plant that raises the bar on efficiency and quality of the final product.
