New Air Particle Monitor

Winchester based company Gradko International has just launched the first affordable instrument which can monitor air pollution in homes and work places - the DC1100.

The DC1100 detects airborne particulates including dust, mould, pollen, bacteria, tobacco smoke, pet dander, dust mite debris and more. Scientific studies have found an association between exposure to airborne particles and significant health problems in people with: Asthma, Chronic Bronchitis, Reduced Lung Function, Irregular Heartbeat, Heart Attack and Lung Disease.

Individuals particularly sensitive to fine particle exposure include older adults, people with heart/lung disease and children. The DC 1100 is simple to use and can be mains or battery operated. Once switched on the unit automatically configures itself and displays the current level of particulate pollution. The data sampled is recorded for future analysis.
