A FIRST FOR WESSEX WATER Wessex Water has joined the growing list of ResMix users in the UK. Following a lengthy evaluation process by the Company and their consultants, MWH, the ResMix "Source Management” System was installed in the Spring of 2015

Gurney Environmental, working with WEARS Australia, designed the system to take account of the unique bathymetry of the reservoir, ensuring maximum epilimnion to hypolimnion exchange, but without disturbing the base of the reservoir during low water levels.

Wessex Water hope that with the ResMix system, they will be able to decommission their existing compressed air system.

The existing system uses about 10 times more energy than the ResMix system just installed. ADOPTED BY SEVERAL WATER COMPANIES ResMix "Source Management" systems are already in use with other major water utility companies in the UK such as United Utilities, Welsh Water and Scottish Water, as well as in the USA and Australia.

The effective and proven elimination of manganese and control of BGA provided by the ResMix systems have made them a sought after tool for use by water utilities in their reservoirs.

The ResMix systems improve and maintain water quality with the ResMix systems improve and maintain water quality with the benefit of downstream savings at the water treatment works.

Wessex Water has for some time sought a more effective method of maintaining water quality at reservoirs. Subsequently, Gurney Environmental were invited to put forward a proposal for the ResMix "Source Management" system.
