Northern Ireland Councils Order 10th Bergmann Mobile Roll Packer In 18 Months

Bergmann Mobile Roll Packer with container-moving arm is the no. 1 choice for Northern Ireland and Scottish Councils running HWRCs

Belfast City Council has just taken delivery of its second Bergmann Mobile Roll Packer bringing to 10, the number ordered for Northern Ireland in the last 18 months alone and 20 overall including Scotland.

The Bergmann Mobile Roll Packer (shown) is a specialist compactor for open containers and now has a container-lifting arm which can move compacted containers up to 10 tonnes in weight without the aid of a roll-on-off vehicle.

"The container-lifting arm makes the Bergmann Mobile unique. When added to the unrivalled compaction in open containers, it is not surprising that so many councils have chosen it over alternatives like static and portable compactors" said Gordon McQueen, Managing Director of Bergmann Direct, the UK dealer for the German made machine.

The 10 Bergmann Mobile Roll Packers are now in place at Omagh, North Down, Antrim, Lisburn, Banbridge and Armagh as well as Belfast and at Perth & Kinross, City Building Glasgow, East Lothian and Fife in Scotland with another 4 units due to be delivered to another Scottish council in September.

"With so many household waste contracts in England and Wales coming up for re-tender over the next 24-36 months, we expect councils and contractors alike to include the Bergmann Mobile into their plans. Everyone needs to reduce transport and operating costs to win the contracts and the payback on a typical site with 8 to 12 containers is little over a year" added Gordon McQueen.

The Bergmann Mobile Roll Packer is being demonstrated at the RWM exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham on 10-12th September 2013.
