Further Business Expansion At MWA Technology

Despite the ongoing economic gloom in the UK, the Birmingham - based independent meter specialist, MWA Technology continues to grow and prosper in a highly competitive marketplace.

Martin Wardell, seen here with some of the MWA team, has overseen a doubling of the size of the company's premises.

Less than three years after a move to new premises which increased its warehouse and office space fivefold, MWA has expanded further through the addition of a new business unit that doubles the size of company's business premises.

To further demonstrate growth, in just seven years MWA's sales has increased eightfold and its workforce has grown from two to 23 people with recruitment of qualified staff and engineers continuing.

MWA's managing director, Martin Wardell said: "A strong order book, a determination to be market leader and investing in new market opportunities - such as renewable heat where we have become pre-eminent through our RHI-compatible meters are factors that have driven our continued growth.

"Two years ago we were opening roughly one new account a week. At the moment we are adding two new accounts every day. We needed more space to accommodate our expanding product ranges and new people.

"Times are tough for everyone at the moment, but if you are passionate and determined about what you do and your business is in touch with what is needed, you can survive," explained Wardell.

MWA provides meters and ancillary metering equipment in the gas, water, steam, oil, electricity, compressed air, energy and heat sectors.

MWA Technology currently has more than 1000 customers throughout the UK. The company's meters have found their way into some impressive national venues and institutions from London's Kew Gardens, Royal Albert Hall and Broadgate Tower to Birmingham's Town Hall, the National Indoor Arena and many more.
