New online portal covers AMP5 issues
26 July 2010, News release from ABB UK - Drives
A new portal is now online dedicated to helping water companies to find the answers to their AMP5 and other related issues.
Sponsored by ABB, the 'AMPplus' portal (www.edie.net/ampplus) focuses on six key areas of concern to water companies, namely: leakage detection and management; energy efficiency and CRC; improving potable water quality; complying with MCERTs; optimising pump performance and maintenance.
The site contains a wealth of information, including application examples, technical articles and White Papers, as well as opinion pieces on current water, energy and environmental issues. Also available is a comprehensive selection of how-to videos, covering topics ranging from leakage through to a series of expert tutorials on pump performance.
"We have developed the AMP/plus portal to create a forum which is open to anyone with an interest in water and waste water issues. Through the portal, users can find a host of useful information as well as join and even create discussions on AMP5 and related topics," says Tim Door, ABB's UK Water Industry Manager.
"Over time, the site will be expanded to include a host of extra information, not just from ABB but also third party organisations involved in helping to set the agenda for the UK water market."
The creation of the site forms part of ABB's ongoing drive to help water companies to maximise the efficiency of their water and waste water treatment processes and reduce their operational carbon footprint.
