HRS Corrugated Heat Exchangers the key to unlocking energy from food waste.

HRS has supplied their DTI corrugated tube in tube heat exchangers for two contracts to one of the UKs leading nationwide integrated waste management businesses.

The HRS units are being used in a process that produces biogas from organic food waste sludge.

The DTI units were chosen for the advantages offered by the HRS corrugated inner tube. Firstly the corrugated inner tube provides extra turbulence and ensures that the food waste does not block when compared to normal heat exchangers, the corrugated profile offered by HRS also offers a greatly increased heat transfer rate resulting in a smaller heat exchanger compared to standard units which in turn helped with the siting of the heat exchangers on an existing waste recycling plant that was very short of spare space.
