What a load of rubbish at Futuresource... but you can win on the Dicom PAAL Stand (J58)

Dicom, The UK's leading manufacturer of waste compaction and baling systems, will be displaying a bale of MSW (Municipal Solid Waste) from its high compression baling system, the HTR. Visitors are invited to the stand to guess the weight of the bale and one lucky winner with the correct or nearest weight each day will win a TomTom navigation device.

The Dicom bale/wrap system is based on proven technology that has been optimised over many years. It is a system that has been proven to be effective, from both a financial and environmental perspective, in many countries around the world. The Dicom stand will exhibit both a wrapped bale of MSW and some loose waste (sealed in a Perspex box). This will demonstrate how clean and hygienic the bale/wrap system really is because it would not normally be recommended for anybody to be in such close proximity to more than a tonne of rotting waste.

In sharp contrast to the MSW bale, Dicom will also be unveiling a brand new vertical baling press. We fully recognise the importance of minimising waste by maximising the level of recycling but this will only happen if it makes financial sense for businesses to do so. To encourage all business enterprises to recycle, Dicom has developed a new low cost, but heavy duty, machine that produces economic 'mill-sized' bales. This all-new baler, which was designed in the UK and will be 100% built in the UK, represents the most cost effective baler on the market and so it will enable more businesses to reap the benefits of recycling.

The Dicom stand, therefore, will show two distinct solutions to the challenge of handling both recyclable and non-recyclable material. The common theme with both solutions is that they are based on established, practical, proven technology. The Dicom exhibition stand provides an overview of these systems to demonstrate that they really generate real, tangible benefits for businesses, the environment and the wider public.
