YSI Invests in UK Service Centre
22 February 2006, News release from YSI Hydrodata Ltd
YSI and YSI SonTek products and systems are used throughout the world to measure, monitor, and provide high-quality, reliable data to help customers make critical decisions in the management and protection of water resources.
YSI's Ian Thompson says that the company "has made significant investments in the Letchworth (Herts) facility in order to ensure customers receive the highest levels of service in specification, training, installation, calibration or maintenance. Our investments include both new staff and inventory. As a result we stock a wide range of replacement units, spares and consumables, and expert staff are always available for technical support by telephone, email, or fax."
Both YSI water quality monitoring instruments and YSI SonTek's water level, velocity and flow measuring instruments are designed to be rugged, accurate and easy-to-use. However, many customers request assistance and on-site training during installation, which the company is happy to provide. This helps ensure that equipment is installed correctly and that the most appropriate monitoring regimen is adopted from the start.
If necessary, YSI is able to offer a complete deployment service including calibration and set-up and even data collection. Site surveys are also available.
Simple routines with user prompts are built into most of YSI's products. However, where necessary, the company provides on-site calibration or training in addition to the calibration services that are offered from in-house service centres.
YSI Incorporated invests heavily in Research and Development, which means that existing customers are able to benefit from a regular stream of product upgrades and improvements. For example, users of the 6920, 6820, and 6600 multiparameter monitors are able to have their sondes upgraded to include the "Clean Sweep"system for extended deployment.
In instances when instruments are only required for a short period, or when budgets are insufficient for outright purchase, many of our customers benefit from access to a large pool of rentable instruments. These can be delivered on short notice anywhere in the world - tested, calibrated, and ready to go.
Continuous monitoring systems enable the collection of truly representative data; they also facilitate the activation of alarms when preset conditions arise. YSI employ the latest in high-tech communications technology to ensure that customers have quick and easy access to the most up-to-date environmental data.
YSI's highly qualified and experienced team of engineers is able to provide technical advice, specification sheets and system proposals specifically designed to meet customers' monitoring needs. In every instance, the best and most appropriate technology is specified for each application, taking into account local conditions, data requirements and the target budget.
