Launch of Eco Innovate 09 - A Showcase of the Best in Environmental Innovation
5 August 2009, News release from UK Centre for Economic & Environmental Dev. (UKCEED)
Eco Innovate 09 is a business-to-business event promoting the use of innovative, environmental solutions.
Today's economy challenges businesses to maintain growth whilst facing escalating fuel, energy and resource prices; meanwhile government calls for them to be making their businesses more sustainable. Eco Innovate will provide the opportunity for businesses in the private and public sector to learn more about how innovative solutions from the Low Carbon Environmental Goods and Services sector can help them meet these challenges.
Eco Innovate will introduce companies to the very latest innovations and technologies emerging from this sector and help them learn more about business resource efficiency, environmental law and compliance and visions for renewable energy.
Making the right contacts and having access to the most appropriate and efficient technologies provide the tools for business to make an informed choice when looking for cost reductions and improved environmental performance. Eco Innovate will showcase up to 100 of the UK's leading businesses and will bring these contacts and technologies under one roof, providing excellent networking and collaboration opportunities.
"Eco Innovate is a great way for businesses to come and find out what they can do to reduce the impact their organisation is having on the environment, no matter what industry sector they are in. In many cases, the solutions on offer will also save businesses money as they spend less on utility bills or on the treatment of waste". Gareth Jones, Project Manager, UK CEED
Alongside the main exhibition there will be an exciting array of activities, including a conference of high profile speakers from government and business, seminars, an innovation lab, a 'dragon's den' style eco innovator panel and an opportunity to maximise networking opportunities by pre-arranged one-to-one networking sessions.
This annual event was launched in Peterborough in 2008 and is organised by UK CEED (the UK Centre for Economic and Environmental Development). This year it is supported by Essex County Council and the East of England Development Agency. Eco Innovate is committed to being in the East of England, home to the largest hub of environmental businesses in the UK.
The event will be held at Towerlands Park, Braintree, Essex on 21 October 2009. For more information and to book delegate and exhibition places, please visit the website at www.ecoinnovate.co.uk
