Formazin Reference Suspensions

In the new version of European Pharmacopoeia 5.0 / 2.2.1, the visual method of measuring the clarity and opalescence (turbidity) of liquids is accompanied for the first time by an instrumental method. The preparation of the standard solutions is, however, time consuming and labour intensive, and the associated error risk is high.

HACH suspensions are prepared under controlled conditions and are subject to the strictest quality control. For the visual method, HACH supplies reference suspensions in 100 ml bottles and suitable cuvettes made of high quality glass with excellent optical properties. If the instrumental method is used, the sealed vials can be measured directly in the HACH turbidimeter. The 100 ml suspensions are ideal to check the glass cuvettes or when small cuvettes are used (small samples).

A better way: STABL CAL standards. With HACH formazin suspensions, the situation is different:

· No waiting periods
· No health risk
· No sources of error
· Certified quality
· Traceable to NIST standard reference materials
