A Green Energy Winner - tidal energy

An interesting piece of news has reached us from India. The state of Gujarat will be building Asia's first commercial scale tidal power station which is expected to be ready by 2013. There is already however competition for the title of being Asia's first in this race as South Korea is already building a tidal barrage on its south coast for similar purpose.

Europe has entered this race too, and in France, there is already a commercial tidal station which is presently the largest in the world. The English Channel is an obvious place to harness tidal energy as the tides there can reach several metres (feet). The Whzan team is used to these tidal differences as we are literally surrounded by them. Now the quest is to find a partner who is working on this form of energy, maybe in a somewhat smaller scale than the world's largest.

The Green Energy space is clearly hot; the increasing energy prices and demand for energy are ensuring that.Emma Hamilton
