Are WEEE supposed to be impressed?

A spot of casual curtain twitching this week got me riled - there was a traffic jam in the street outside my flat, caused by a delivery lorry from one of the big retailers dropping off a washing machine or cooker.
Tempers were flaring, unfairly in my opinion - people are entitled to get white goods delivered, even if they do live in narrow streets and it wasn't rush hour.
But what angered me was the slogan on the side of the truck - 'We'll even take away your old appliance' or similar, which looked to me like a pretty dodgy attempt to dress up an obligation as a service offered out of the kindness of the company's heart.
