So long, farewell

The time has come for me to say goodbye, this will be my last newsletter as edie-tor.

I've spent five years working on this website and seen it evolve dramatically over that period.
Back in 2005 when I started, whole streets would still huddle round the communal wireless to listen to weekly news broadcasts and people would catch up on current affairs by popping down to the local picture house and watching the latest reels on the silver screen.
These days, of course, the media-devouring public expect video content at the click of a mouse and a wealth of well-archived, easily browsable content.
Edie's changed to meet those demands, and I'm proud to have played my part in making it so.
So, why am I off and where am I going? Well, I'm going to work for the Renewable Fuels Agency, the UK's sustainable fuel regulator where I'll be looking to promote biofuels that don't damage the environment or communities.
For me, it's a chance to escape the city and move to the country with my young family while working for an organisation I beleive can make a positive difference in fast-evolving arena.
I'll miss edie, but it's time for something new.
So goodbye, all the best and good luck to my successor - may they enjoy the job as much as I have!Wink
