Lex Transfleet 'chills out' for Cliniserve

Faced with the challenge of providing West Sussex-based Cliniserve Ltd with vans to meet specific internal requirements, Lex Transfleet came up with a contract-winning solution - specially adapted vans with an internal specification similar to that of a refrigerated vehicle.

Cliniserve Ltd operates across the country, collecting and disposing of clinical and pharmaceutical waste from a variety of public and private sector customers. These loads are usually light, but bulky. Having decided that the Iveco Daily van had the right capacity, the next poser for Lex Transfleet was finding an economical way of lining the vans in glass fibre - needed for easy cleaning and with separate internal compartments for holding rigid containers and replacement stock.

Kevin Jennings, Account Manager, Lex Transfleet said: "It became clear that the internal specification of the vehicle matched that of a refrigerated van, but without the fridge unit or insulation. We discussed the project with one of our refrigerated van suppliers who agreed to adapt the vans to our requirements, enabling us to provide Cliniserve with the ideal solution at a very competitive cost."

James Geary, Managing Director of Cliniserve Ltd, said: "Lex Transfleet stopped at nothing in their quest to find a solution to our vehicle needs. As well as supplying us with an internal solution to meet our needs, Lex Transfleet also provides the maintenance and support to the fleet, enhancing our drivers' on the road safety.

"The inclusion of rear proximity sensors on the vans also helps to protect members of the public and other road users when the vehicles are reversing, as well as reducing our insurance costs."
