SLR Consulting, the UK’s fastest growing environmental consultancy has acquired Surrey-based firm Architecture and Planning Solutions.

This partnership will enable SLR to combine architecture into its multi-disciplinary approach to energy recovery facilities.

David Butterworth, the owner of Architecture and Planning solutions, (APS) has extensive experience of architectural design of energy recovery facilities and has worked with SLR on a range of projects over the past two years.

David, who will be based in SLR’s Maidstone, office said: “We already enjoyed a good working relationship on a number of projects and I am impressed with SLR’s culture. Together we will be able to provide a more integrated and wider ranging service to our existing and future clients.”

Architecture and Planning Solutions is now renamed SLR Architecture and it will provide concept design, planning procurement and review the integrity of contractors detailed design proposals and construction.

Clients include SITA/Suez, Surrey Waste Management, Virador Waste Management, Biffa Waste Management and Cornwall Waste Management.

SLR’s managing director Neil Penhall said: “We are delighted that David has decided to join SLR. We are both committed to design excellence and are commercial and mindful of producing ‘value for money’ designs that will be appropriate in a competitive procurement process.”

Completed energy recovery facilities by David include SELCP in Deptford and The Kirkless Project for Sita in Huddersfield.
