ATEX is the name commonly given to the framework for controlling explosive atmospheres and the standards of equipment and protective systems used in them.
A Bund Water Control Unit (dewatering system) ensures bund capacity is maintained and, in the event of a tank rupture, the bund keeps the spill enclosed preventing oils and chemicals contaminating land and watercourses. As well as the environmental benefits, this product offers significant waste management cost savings.
Fewer visits by your waste management provider will be required because only the oil (and no water) will need to be removed. The unit will also provide a safe and dry working environment for your site maintenance staff.
A bund water control unit ensures your bund adheres to Pollution Prevention Guidelines Above Ground Oil Storage Tanks: PPG2
Additional technological advances in environmental protection from Darcy Spillcare Manufacture include:
Many of Darcy's technical pollution control systems including their ATEX Approved bund water control unit can be integrated into secondary alarm systems and maintained by Darcy's Central Monitoring Network.
Darcy Spillcare Manufacture, established in 1935, is the UK's largest manufacturer of absorbents. At the launch of their ATEX Approved Bund Water Control Unit Darcy's Managing Director, Richard Proctor, commented: "As innovators of leading edge technology we are dedicated to reducing our customers' environmental impact through the continuing development of leading edge products"
