edie.net takes over environment awards website

The environment awards website originally set up by think-tank the RSA has now been taken over by Faversham House Group's internet-based news service, www.edie.net.

Searchable, online database www.environmentawards.net contains over 350 environmental and sustainable development awards and grants organised by the RSA, and also features a best practice case study bank and monthly newsletter which are currently being redeveloped under the website’s new management.

The awards themselves will still be developed and run by the RSA’s Forum for Environmental and Sustainable Development Awards.

“I am very pleased to take over this excellent website from the RSA,” edie.net publisher Carl Myers said. “They have done a superb job in setting up a central database for environmental awards in the UK and a valuable information resource to promote best practice.”

“We look forward to making this more widely available and continuing to develop and enhance the service.”

The awards have long been recognised as a means of bringing to light examples of innovation and celebrate the achievements of pioneering ideas, according to the RSA. They also act as a mechanism to encourage others to strive towards best practice and help to drive forward the sustainability agenda.
