First again! MCERTS clean sweep for Aquamatic’s wastewater samplers

First, Aquamatic became the UK's inaugural wastewater sampler manufacturer to gain E-32compliance. Then in 2005 it became the very first wastewater sampler manufacturer to receive a coveted Environment Agency Monitoring Certification Scheme MCERTS certificate in continuous water monitoring equipment (CWMS) from SIRA Certification Service (SCS) - and now, the go-ahead Manchester-based firm has done it again by becoming the first UK company to gain MCERTS certification for its main range of wastewater samplers.

Giving surety to industry that its wastewater samplers meet stringent performance criteria set out in current international standards and the growing requirements of EC Directives, Aquamatic’s new MCERTS certificate was presented to the company at its headquarters in Irlam, which has doubled in size during the past 18 months to cope with demand from water companies such as Severn Trent Water, Thames Water, Scottish Water, Welsh Water and Anglian Water as well as a growing number of domestic and international trade customers.

Steve Lower, Managing Director for Sira Certification Service commented:

“An MCERTS certificate, particularly for innovative products, demonstrates that the equipment is fit for purpose and also goes a long way to enhancing confidence in monitoring”.

“This project highlighted how Sira can meet its clients’ expectations. We felt confident that by working closely with the Aquamatic team we could achieve certification within the required timelines and at a reasonable price.”

Jeremy Smith, Managing Director at Aquamatic, added: “We are very proud of our latest MCERTS certification. Not only does it re-emphasise our commitment to producing reliable, top quality equipment to the highest standards, but it also provides additional confirmation to our customers, present and future, that they are using the right equipment for their applications. We feel that this certification will also assist with our ever increasing drive into new markets, domestic and international”.

Aquamatic wastewater samplers covered by the new MCERTS award include the whole portable P2 range, the all new S300 stationary series and a full range of Sample Collection Vessels.

Based on ISO and EN standards for monitoring and equipment testing, inspection, product certification and personnel competency, MCERTS effectively replaced the E-32 benchmark.
