Drought boosts popularity of rainwater harvesting

The drainage supplier has also predicted a trend towards rainwater harvesting will continue to grow over the summer months as businesses and households looks to take action against water shortages.

A growing interest in the green agenda is also thought to be behind this year's spike in sales.

Drain Center trading director Dave Young, said: "We've seen a considerable surge in interest in our rainwater harvesting kits, it's a very sensible thing to be doing,"

"The good news is that installing one in your home is simple and if you're on a water meter you'll also save money on water bills."
