The collaboration will deliver client manager services to businesses (including third sector businesses) and public sector organisations as part of the Welsh Government’s Resource Efficient Wales service (a new resource efficiency advice service), announced earlier this week.

The two contracts are worth a total of £1,037,830 across an initial 18 month period.

Participating organisations will receive support to reduce their energy, water, resource use and waste, helping them take advantage of the opportunities of resource efficiency, according to WRAP Cymru. They will also be able to learn about additional sources of support from the Welsh Government.

Saving money

According to WRAP Cymru, this will help them save money, and help Wales to meet its resource efficiency and sustainable development goals.

Carbon Trust Programmes managing director Richard Rugg said: “For the past 12 years the Carbon Trust has worked alongside the Welsh Government to help to cut nine million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions and deliver more than £700m in financial savings for thousands of Welsh companies and public sector bodies.

“We are very much looking forward to building on our success, together with WRAP Cymru, and continuing to support public bodies and businesses in Wales through the new Resource Efficient Wales service.”

WRAP director Marcus Gover added: “We are delighted to announce that working in partnership WRAP Cymru and Carbon Trust have won the contracts to deliver resource efficiency support to Welsh public sector organisations and businesses of all sizes.

“Both have strong track records of helping organisations reap the benefits of using fewer resources; WRAP Cymru looks forward to working closely with the Welsh Government and the Carbon Trust on what we believe will be a successful and productive collaboration.”
