The Awards, organised by edie and its sister brand Sustainable Business, celebrate the very best in sustainable business; recognising true leadership and innovation among companies and organisations that are making genuine progress in embedding sustainability throughout their operations.

Another record year for entries saw an array of businesses large and small vying for a place on the shortlist, which includes multi-national corporations, retailers, manufacturers, luxury brands, SMEs, public sector organisations, universities and more. View the full shortlist here.

The categories are judged by our esteemed expert panel which includes the Carbon Trust’s chief operating officer Michael Rea, BRE’s chief executive Peter Bonfield and Forum for the Future’s chief executive Sally Uren.

But the Sustainability Leader: Consultancy category is a little bit different. The shortlist and winner of the consultancy category is determined by a piece of third-party research commissioned by edie and conducted by market research specialists Accent – the sponsor of this category. More than 400 consultancy customers were surveyed about their experience of consultancy procurement over the past 12 months and were asked to vote for and rank their top consultancies. It means that this category is the only award that is voted for by the customer.
