Tradebe strengthens clinical waste arm with Ecowaste purchase

Clinical waste specialist Ecowaste Southwest has been acquired by Tradebe for an undisclosed sum as part its strategy to broaden its environmental healthcare services.

Bristol-based Ecowaste provides clinical waste collection services throughout the south west of England. The company, purchased from SRCL, has an annual turnover of £2m and employs 16 people.

Tradebe’s UK chief executive officer, Alex Gazulla, said the company was “delighted” to complete the acquisition as it complemented its existing operations.

Tradebe Healthcare is licensed to handle over 18,000 tonnes a year of all types of healthcare wastes and provides a national collection service to NHS trusts, hygiene customers and pharmaceutical organisations.

The company claims to be the only service provider in the UK offering a cold disinfection treatment process for orange bag clinical waste.

The global Tradebe group is headquartered in Spain. Worldwide it employees 1,750 people and has an annual turnover of over €350m.
