The website – wastecompareuk.com – which claims to be first of its type in the UK, allows users to enter their current or future waste disposal needs before displaying the most relevant and cost effective service suppliers.

The service covers both commercial and clinical waste streams, allows users to compare like for like costs, and integrates all aspects of removal services including transfer and consignments notes required by law.

Waste contractors can register on the site and manage their own tariffs and service offerings using a dedicated management portal. Provided they are relevant and competitive to the enquiry, the user can then select their quote and agree to further contact.

The website has been developed by Freshfield Business Systems. Its director Carlos Fortin says it differs from other services as the service provider receives all of the customer’s requirements such as bin specifications and collection frequency.

Another feature of the website is that contractors can use the management tools within the portal to analyse any areas where they consistently lose business against their competitors such as geographical coverage, lack of green credentials or specific service provisions.
