As part of its 'Together for Tomorrow' sustainability month, a range of events for employees, suppliers and clients will be offered including; a sustainability webinar with speakers from Forum for the Future, the International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility and KPMG, who will each present their latest thinking on sustainability.

It will also see a 'Dragons' Den' style competition for current and potential suppliers to pitch sustainable products and ideas to experts from Balfour Beatty's environment, innovation and operations teams.

Employees will also be encouraged to lead more sustainable lifestyles by taking part in health and wellbeing days.

Balfour Beatty chief executive Ian Tyler, said: "Sustainability is at the heart of Balfour Beatty's business strategy and inherent in the way we work.

"For me and all our people, this means working in partnership with our clients to create a profitable and ethical infrastructure business for the long term. It also means enhancing the communities we work in and delivering sustainable infrastructure for society."
