Edie awards judging panel finalised – enter now!

Chaired by Environment Agency chairman Lord Smith, the judging panel for this year's Sustainability Leaders Awards is made up of genuine leaders in the field from across a spectrum of disciplines and experience.

Founder director of Forum for the Future Jonathon Porritt joins the panel this year, having previously won the award for Outstanding Contribution to Sustainability (now renamed Sustainability Visionary). Other new recruits lending their expertise and insight to the panel are CorporateRegister.com director Paul Scott, Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership interim md Jonathan Murray and IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) chief executive Jan Chmiel.

They join Environment Agency head of climate change Liz Parkes, Cranfield University head of applied sciences Tom Stephenson, Ecolateral founder director Peter Jones OBE, BRE chief executive Dr Peter Bonfield, director of sustainable communication consultants Futerra Ed Gillespie and Beyond Green director Joanna Yarrow, all of whom have acted as judges for the awards in previous years.

Edie managing editor, and Sustainability Leaders Awards organiser Will Parsons said: “with such a prestigious panel bringing such a wealth of expertise to bear, it’s clear that winners of a Sustainability Leaders Award 2012 will be exactly that – true leaders in the field, worthy of the recognition the awards bring and of entry into the European Business Awards for the Environment.”

There’s still time to enter via the edie website. All we need is a 750-word explanation of the project, initiative, partnership or person that you would like to enter and we’ll do the rest.
