Mr Johns, who is also the founder of Southern Solar, took to his blog yougen.co.uk to urge solar PV installers to join the march next Tuesday (November 22).

He said: “Now we have all got over the shock of the announcement of potential changes to the Feed-In Tariff (FIT) some people in the industry are saying we should just get on and make the 21p work.

“In many ways if that was what the plan really was I would agree, but having sat in the ministerial roundtable about the FIT changes I am left with more worry than before.

“The minister made it quite clear ‘we have to reduce demand’ and there are a number of things in the announced changes that will make this happen.”

Mr Johns four factors should get those in the solar industry motivated the timing, rates energy efficiency requirements and ambition.
