Sustainability Leaders Awards announces latest sponsor

Sustainable Business and edie are welcoming Barrow Shipping on board the Sustainability Leaders Awards as sponsor of the Sustainable Transport & Logistics category.

Barrow Shipping are the latest sponsor to lend their support to what will be the biggest Sustainability Leaders Awards event ever. In fact the event is very close to being completely sold out with six weeks to go until the night itself.

Speaking of the company's support of the awards, Barrow Shipping Ltd director Peter Rayson said: "Barrow Shipping is pleased to sponsor the Sustainable Transport & Logistics category at this year's Sustainability Leaders Awards as this is perfectly aligned with the biomethane Green Gas Certificates that we are now selling on behalf of biomethane producers.

"Whilst it has been possible to source green electricity for many years, it is only in 2013 that natural gas consumers have an equivalent option. With the growth of the biomethane to grid market, Barrow Green Gas has been created to aggregate biomethane and sell Green Gas Certificates that demonstrate sourcing from sustainable biomass processed in anaerobic digesters. For fuelling trucks, moving away from imported natural gas allows demonstration of a significant reduction in carbon footprint. With our partners at the not-for-profit Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd (REAL) the Green Gas Certification Scheme (GGCS) is forecasting 600m kWh of green gas to be injected into the UK gas grid in 2015."
