As edie's green buildings month draws to a close, we visit the inspirational home of the UK Green Building Council for a live episode of the podcast, including an exclusive chat with the Council's campaign and policy director John Alker.
The edie editorial team brings you the latest news, insights and inspiration from the world of sustainable business with this 14th episode of the Sustainable Business Covered podcast. (Download all episodes on iTunes for free here).
In this half-an-hour episode, edie editor Luke broadcasts live from the Building Centre in central London - a place where organisations and individuals connected with construction and the environment can come together to learn and develop knowledge about how to deliver a greener, more sustainable built environment.
Housed within the Building Centre is the UK Green Building Council, which has just achieved the lowest embodied carbon footprint ever recorded for an office refurbishment in the UK. Luke is joined in the green office space by the Council's campaign and policy director John Alker, who provides his views on the biggest challenges and opportunities facing green building development based on his nine years' experience with the organisation.
The month of October saw edie shift the editorial spotlight to green buildings, with an array of exclusive content which highlighted and discussed the options now available to improve the environmental performance of buildings. Read all of our green buildings content here.
