Glastonbury seeks to persuade festival goers to go green

Glastonbury Festival, the UK's largest regular music event, has teamed up with a host of environmental and development charities in an attempt to persuade revellers to announce their commitment to tackling climate change.

The 'I count' campaign involves over 50 NGOs and encourages people to announce why their actions and opinions count in the fight against climate change.

Glastonbury Festival organisers and its three supported charities, Greenpeace, Water Aid and Oxfam, are hoping to persuade 100,000 punters to sign up and make their own statements.

Other initiatives include carbon neutral showers, carbon dating for that special person and planet in your life, carbon trails and carbon gyms.
