The 150,000-tonne capacity plant will be operated by Waste Recycling Group (WRG) on behalf of the Lincolnshire Waste Partnership. Clugston Construction, working with technology specialist CNIM, has partnered with WRG to build the plant.
The first of 80 trees have been planted to mark the start of the construction phase. Along with providing electricity to the National Grid, the facility will also have the potential to provide heat to the local community.
WRG’s director of FCC projects, John Plant, said: “Lincolnshire is making significant investments in the future, in terms of environmental and economic terms.”
