The recycling campaign has teamed up with the postal service to have its slogan and web address printed across over 6 million parcels and letters every day as the postage cancellation mark.

The mark appears on all mail that has gone through Royal Mail’s processors, to show stamps have been used.

The campaign began on May 8, and runs to the June 18 and is timed to coincide with Recycle Now’s flagship initiative – the BIG recycle which runs from June 5-11.

The initiative also links up with the launch of the latest in the successful series of Recycle Now’s TV ads, which highlights the recycling transformation process undertaken by cans, glass bottles, paper and garden waste to show that for recycling, ‘the possibilities are endless’.

The new ad welcomes back the animated family, this time showing how newspaper and magazines can be recycled into new newspapers in just seven days.

WRAP’s chief executive, Jennie Price gave the plan her stamp of approval.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to remind millions of people that recycling is an everyday activity – just like delivering the post – and is a great way to boost awareness of the Recycle Now symbol as a strong call to action,” she said.
