The heat wave which has sent temperatures skyrocketing in Britain and most of Europe is drawing to a close, according to the Met Office.

UK temperatures next week are likely to be between a far cooler 19 and 25 Degrees C, much closer to the seasonal average.

The jury is out on whether this summer’s extraordinarily high temperatures are a result of climate change, as it is hard to link a single weather event to overall global warming, but the heat has certainly helped raise the profile of environmental issues and concentrated minds.
