With over 22 years experience she is tasked with developing a team to provide design expertise, initially focusing on projects in the waste sector.

Previously Ginny, who ran her own practise in South Africa before moving to the UK in 1999, worked for Stubbs Rich Architects as an associate.

With advanced knowledge in the design of laboratories and research facilities, she was tasked with developing its portfolio in the higher education and science sectors, working on projects for Oxford University and the University of Bristol.

In addition she has extensive knowledge of delivering feasibility studies, identifying and evaluating alternative design options and testing their viability with a view to delivering aspirational buildings.

Ginny, who is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), said: “I am currently working on designs for a number of energy from waste (EFW) projects for SLR. These are huge buildings that deal with two topical and critical issues in our society, namely energy and waste.

“It is going to be fascinating and challenging coming up with concepts for such vast buildings and developing designs that appropriately celebrate this new building type, rather than apologise for it. This has got to be every architect’s dream job.”

SLR Consulting is a fast growing environmental consultancy with over 700 employees working from 20 offices in the UK, one in Ireland and 26 offices in USA and Canada.
