Evolve Energy is encouraging companies and innovators to step forward with their cutting-edge ideas, products or services and enter its Energy Innovation Challenge.

Gary Parke, CEO of Evolve Energy, said: “We are looking for the most forward thinking ideas in energy efficiency – whether it’s a better light bulb, power station or energy storage facility, we want to hear about it.

“This challenge is open to all innovators and entrepreneurs passionate about their product or service designed to improve energy efficiency delivery, lower the costs for businesses and tackle the issue of climate change.

“Energy efficiency has too often been viewed as the ugly sister next to renewables. It’s time for people to realise that during the downturn, investment in energy-saving and energy-reducing measures will have an immediate material impact in terms of emissions reductions and actually save money.”

All the submitted ideas, which can be all stages of development from prototypes to profitable businesses, will be judged by a panel of Evolve Energy directors and select business experts in the cleantech sector.

A shortlist of applicants will also have to introduce their ideas in person to the panel in a Dragon’s Den-style exercise.

The winning ideas will then be rigorously tested and, where applicable, offered a route to market and implemented in the energy management solutions offered by Evolve Energy.

All interested parties should submit their ideas to ideas@evolveenergy.com or visit www.evolveenergy.com for more information.
