Fleet expands to meet customer demand

New investment in additions to its current fleet of over 1,400 specialist vehicles by Municipal Hire Services Ltd backs up a strategy to expand an already wide-ranging line-up to provide a complete "package" to its customers.

Ian Handley, Managing Director of the company, said: “MHS aims to provide a one-stop shop providing our customers with all their vehicle requirements.”

The latest acquisitions comprise six new refuse vehicles, which have been bought to satisfy growing customer demand for this type of vehicle within the hire industry. The new vehicles are 26 ton PDE Vultures on Seddon Atkinson chassis, coming complete with Terberg low-level bin lifts.

Partnership with local authorities is a major theme for MHS whose services include contract hire with maintenance hire, for a wide range of vehicles, encompassing sweepers, gully emptiers, combination units, van pack jetting units, tippers, access vehicles, refuse vehicles, gritters, grounds maintenance, minibuses and accessible buses.

MHS Highway Hire is also active in plant hire in the drainage industry, as a major supplier of sewer and jetting equipment. The company offers vehicles on a contract hire or short-term basis and will build units to meet users’ specifications. The fleet includes self-drive gully emptiers, combination units, and a range of Whale equipment covering Whale Van Packs, hot wash units, plus the high volume KiloWhale Jetvacs.
