Irish environment, heritage and local government minister, John Gormley, launched the new Environmental Information Service website earlier this week.

As well as the new site the government has funded a touring environmental information exhibition which will visit 350 library branches nationwide.

The minister said: “My aim is to ensure the building at Andrew St will to continue to have a role as an environmental focal point in the city centre.

“A number of environmental NGOS, including Cultivate and ECO-UNESCO, are developing plans to utilize the centre to promote their activities and services.

“These include those to green business and communities, in the area of sustainable development, which would assist in the delivery of climate change.”
