The Aldersgate Group is a high level coalition of progressive businesses, environmental groups and individuals who believe that high environmental standards will be a major part of future economic growth and international competitiveness.

By presenting objective evidence based on the diverse experience of its members, it promotes the case that there is no inherent contradiction between regulating for high environmental standards at the same time as maintaining economic growth and stimulating wealth creation.

This year it will be working with edie to promote our Green Corporate Initiative award which seeks to highlight projects that show that what’s good for the environment can also be good for business.

The AG’s Andrew Raingold said:”The Aldersgate Group is delighted to partner edie to promote its prestigious environmental awards.

“The Green Corporate Initiative will showcase examples of sustainability leadership and help to inspire others in the corporate sector to go further and faster in reducing their environmental impact.”

Sam Bond, edie’s editor said: “We’re delighted to have the Aldersgate Group on board.

“We’re teaming up with membership organisations like AG as their people are likely to be those setting the agenda in their field – and those are exactly the kind of people we want to reach.

“It’s a match that works for everyone – members of the association get a heads up about an potential award that might otherwise have passed them by, while we reach the widest possible audience, allowing us to attract the highest calibre of entries.”

Now in their fourth year, the Awards for Environmental Excellence are RSA accredited, making them one of just a handful of feeder schemes for the European Business Awards for the Environment

Winners are entitled to be considered to represent the UK in the pan-European awards.

Entering the awards could not be easier – those who believe they have a project that shows innovation, goes beyond simple good practice and meets our criteria need only write a brief case study and provide us with their contact details.

Entries must be received by the closing date of May 26.

The best of these will be shortlisted for consideration by our expert panel of judges.

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner at London’s prestigious Hurlingham Club, London in November.

The awards are sponsored by powerPerfector.
