Dublin launches anti-litter drive

Dublin City Council last week launched a new drive aimed at tackling cigarette and chewing gum dumped on its street.

The campaign called ‘Bin Your Butts, Chewing Gum and Fast Food Litter’ was launched last Wednesday (August 4)

A spokesman for the council said: “The campaign targets the three leading causes of litter on Dublin streets: cigarette butts, gum and fast food.

“These account for 75% of the litter on the capital’s streets and will tell people – nobody wants your litter.”

The campaign will run until the end of August and will be backed up with T-shirts and advertising around Dublin
