However, they admitted that 1,300 properties in the Dunmurry area would face a ‘limited curtailment’ of supply last night.
While the end of the crisis is in sight, around 60,000 homes and businesses have been affected, spending the Christmas and New Year period without running water.
Now reports this morning say the chief executive of NIW, Laurence MacKenzie, is set to resign over the debacle. The company board is expected to meet today.
NIW customers say they were left without water, without proper information and without swift action to deal with the emergency.
The company reports that they have some 500 staff on the ground dealing with supply issues and also checking for leakage in private and commercial premises but critics say they did not deal decisively and were underprepared for shortages.
