CARES wins Queens Award for Enterprise 2011

CARES Ltd, the Ashford based international environmental and engineering consultancy, has bucked the recession and wins Queens Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2011.

CARES, an independent practice of civil, maritime and mining engineers and environmental consultants, based in the aptly named International House in Ashford, are proud to announce receipt of the Queens Award for Enterprise 2011.

Unlike most engineering and environmental consultancies, CARES has doubled turnover in the last three years on the back of strong international and UK growth. With new offices in Nigeria and Ghana, CARES continues to recruit both in the UK and overseas whilst most of the competition is laying-off staff.

Our success is down to the cost effective delivery of integrated and sustainable services through a core of experienced engineers and a reservoir of retained international experts. This enables us to provide innovative solutions to our clients’ problems and direct training of their staff.

Our training services include key issues of Port management and pilotage of LNG Tankers through to the management of environmental liabilities in remote locations.

We also operate effectively in regions considered as difficult by many. We have significant operations in West Africa and are also active in elsewhere in Africa as well as the Middle East and Far East. Our work in the last three years has been carried out in over fifteen countries and ranges from gold mines in the Siberian Tundra, to Port expansion in Nigeria and hydro power schemes in the Highlands of Scotland.

We have the advantage of working with many clients who are benefitting from the rise in Commodity and energy prices. Key sectors include port development and expansion, mining, oil and gas and renewable energy, all of which offer significant growth opportunities.
